What services do you offer?

One-on-one sessions: The centerpiece of my consulting practice is not reading but conversation. Only a fraction of writing is the writing on the page, and I'm not just parroting Hemingway here. The writer, the forum, the subject matter: all of this constitutes a piece of writing, and isn't accessible through the page alone. These sessions leverage the worldly context of your writing to push you to develop creative, engaged work. They build on your strengths as a writer, and towards new horizons.

Detailed commentary: When I read your work I offer probing questions, thoroughly explicated edits, honest reactions, and creative riffs. Sometimes you'll receive a few paragraphs from me about a single sentence. I speak to both the material and to the way it's put together. I engage with the shape of the whole piece and what lies beyond it.
